Dr Eva Novrup Redvall

Assoc. Professor in Film and Media Studies / University of Copenhagen

Dr. Eva Novrup Redvall is Associate Professor in Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen where she is also Head of the Research Priority Area on Creative Media Industries. Her research focuses on issues related to screenwriting and production in the current film and television industries, among other things on how to understand practitioners’ work, talent training and creative collaborations in small nation production contexts as well as on wider cultural policy and public service frameworks for different kinds of ‘screen idea systems’. She has published widely in international books and journals.

Among her recent publications are the monograph Writing and Producing Television Drama in Denmark: From The Kingdom to The Killing (Palgrave Macmillan) and the edited collection European Cinema and Television: Cultural Policy and Everyday Life (co-edited with Ib Bondebjerg and Andrew Higson, Palgrave Macmillan). She is currently part of two large research projects: Mediating Cultural Encounters on European Screens (mecetes.co.uk) and What Makes Danish TV Drama Travel? (danishtvdrama.au.dk). Besides her academic work, she has been a film critic for the daily newspaper Information since 1999 and currently serves on the national jury for the Nordic Council Film Prize.
