NZ SCREEN PRODUCERS' GUILD RESPONDS TO THE NZ FILM COMMISSION CONFLICT OF INTEREST REVIEW
The New Zealand Screen Producers' Guild, SPADA, welcomed today's release of the independent review as it vindicated concerns about the NZFC conflict of interest situation, and how it was being managed. SPADA President Irene Gardiner said it was obvious from the Report that the NZFC Board's processes for managing former CEO David Strong's conflict of interest had been imperfect, and SPADA looks forward to seeing the recommendations being implemented. “It would have been good if this could have all been resolved a little earlier, but at least we have the report and its recommendations now, and we are looking forward to new NZFC Chair Alastair Carruthers taking up his position in October, and the appointment of a new CEO, so we can keep our industry moving along effectively and efficiently”.
