COVID-19 Update 27 August 2021: Alert Levels to Change


COVID Level 4 27 August 2021

Alert Level 4 is now in place for all of New Zealand.

Until 11:59PM, Tuesday, 31 August 2021

THEN All of New Zealand south of Auckland moves to Alert Level 3

Auckland and Northland remain in Alert Level 4 (to be reviewed Monday, 30 August 2021)

(AS AT 4:00PM Friday 27 August 2021)

 

Cabinet has decided:

  • All of New Zealand South of the Auckland Boundary will move to alert level 3 from 11.59 pm Tuesday, 31 August 2021;
  • Auckland and Northland will remain in alert level 4 until 11.59 pm Tuesday, 31 August 2021. This alert level will be reviewed by Cabinet on Monday, 30 August 2021, however it is "likely at this stage Auckland will remain at level 4 for a further two weeks." (Northland is currently included in this area due to the recent positive case confirmed in Warkworth.)

Key points:

  • There are now 347 cases in the community, including confirmed cases in Auckland and Wellington.
  • There are now more than 500 Locations of Interest in various locations throughout the North Island, with others being added as they are identified. Please stay familiar with the locations of interest, and take any action required if you have visited a location of interest at the same time as a confirmed case.
  • People throughout the country are reminded to get tested should they experience any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Regardless of what has been stated about proposed alert levels, everyone should remain prepared for the alert levels to escalate rapidly should any new information come to hand.

** It's noted that masks will remain mandatory in Level 3.

Financial Support:
Financial support options continue for the current COVID-19 lockdown. The COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme opened for applications last week and is there to support to employers and contractors alike. There is additional information on the full range of financial support available via the COVID-19 website.

Access to financial support appears to be readily available, however, if you are experiencing difficulties please contact SPADA or your screen guild for support.

Take Care

Stay home wherever possible, and follow all requirements of the Level 4 Lockdown. Wash your hands, wear your mask, scan in at any location, get vaccinated if possible, be kind to each other and check in on your loved ones via phone or online.
