Spada is delighted to announce the inaugural recipient of the 2025 Vincent Burke Scholarship, Joyce Wong.

The calibre of the applicants for the inaugural Vincent Burke Scholarship was extremely high, which gave the judges plenty to discuss. Joyce's achievements to date, particularly the high standard of her completed projects alongside a strong slate in development and her passion for empowering pan-Asian creatives and stories on screen, were remarked upon and commended.

Joyce has focused on creating a viable and successful screen business alongside her creative projects, which demonstrates her dedication to the role of producer.

"I'm so thankful to receive the Vincent Burke Scholarship. It’ll help me get to overseas markets, build international connections, and bring new opportunities home to support New Zealand productions. I'm proud to represent my community and grateful to the judges and Spada for believing in me. Although I never got to know Vincent, I believe his values reflect the ongoing support I've received in my short career and it's a true privilege to help carry on his legacy." - Joyce Wong, 2025 Vincent Burke Scholarship Recipient.

The Vincent Burke Scholarship aims to support the next generation of New Zealand producers by providing an annual grant of $5,000 to support the advancement of their projects, companies, or careers.
