Dr Natalie Robinson

Marine Physicist - NIWA

Dr Natalie Robinson is a marine physicist at NIWA working at the intersection between the ocean, sea ice and ice shelves. Her field-based research is helping to better understand critical interactions between ice and ocean, as well as their influence on and response to Earth’s changing climate. Her work has taken her to Antarctica six times, and she is now part of the leadership team for NZ’s MBIE-funded Antarctic Science Platform – with plans for research activity stretching out over the next six years. She is passionate about making science accessible to everyone, regularly speaking to a variety of audiences and making contributions on several publicly-accessible platforms. With three kids of her own, she has a fundamental investment in our shared future and is therefore keen to empower the public to engage in discourse around Climate Change.

Dr Robinson is taking part in the Science Roundtable.
