Desray Armstrong is a producer with a diverse slate of credits. Since 2004, she has developed a wealth of physical production experience by working on numerous film and television productions as a freelance Production Coordinator, Location Coordinator, 2nd AD, Production Manager and Line Producer. Credits include: Mulan, Mortal Engines, Wellington Paranormal, A Wrinkle in Time, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, The Rehearsal, The Light Between Oceans, Z For Zachariah, Slow West, What We Do in the Shadows, The Weight of Elephants, Tracker, Home By Christmas and Show of Hands.
Awarded Woman to Watch at the 2016 Women in Film & Television Awards, Desray has produced music videos and award-winning short films including Meathead by Sam Holst (Cannes Film Festival 2011, Berlin Film Festival 2012 Crystal Bear Winner), Ellen is Leaving by Michelle Savill (SXSW Film Festival 2013 Best Narrative Short Winner), Snowmen by Jonathan Brough (Show Me Shorts 2014), Bats by Michelle Savill (NZIFF 2018, MIFF 2018) and is currently in post production with Jessica Sanderson’s Ways to See. She produced Dustin Feneley’s independent debut feature Stray, which premiered in Main Competition at the Moscow International Film Festival 2018 taking away the award for Best Actor, screened at the NZ International Film Festival to sell out screenings and is currently in it’s sixth week of release in New Zealand cinemas.
