An up-and-coming Producer and Director, Angela Cudd (Ngati Pōrou) most recently produced and directed I Am Waru, a short-documentary celebrating Māori fathers, which was inspired by the award-winning feature film Waru. This story resonated on a grass-roots level, receiving great reach on digital platforms. This comes off the back of her earlier success producing the television series Pōtae Pai, a 100% Te Reo Māori, educational show, which aired on Māori Television to good ratings. Angela’s other directing credits include the Anzac vignettes The Last Reunion and Jack & the Forgotten Hero, which are special for their historical value. Present day, Angela is producing the short animation Liquid Love for Takitini Productions that is due for release in 2019. Her hope for the future is to tell Kiwi and Māori stories that go beyond entertainment and delve into issues of identity, culture, history and social import.
